If you need to place one of our floor
plans on your web site, or insert into
any desktop publishing or word processing
document, you will need a graphics-format
file of the drawing. The CAD files themselves
are in what is called "vector format".
That is, they basically consist of a series
of lines, circles and polygons. This is
what a CAD program works with, and is
capable of manipulating each of these
items individually. However, what is required
on the Internet, or in any word processor,
is a "graphics format" file,
such as a bitmap (BMP), or more likely
a JPG, GIF, or TIFF format file. These
can be created by scanning the hardcopy
produced by the CAD program, but scanning
is a mechanical process, and will never
result in a "clean" image.
All of our drawings are plotted in PDF format, from which all hardcopy
is produced. With every
project, PDF files are delivered on CD at no extra charge, along with the
original CAD files. PDF files have become the industry standard,
due to their printer-independence. Viewing PDFs on screen results
in imagery as sharp as the original hard-copy prints, with full
pan and zoom capability.
Features:
- PDF,
JPG,
GIF,
TIFF.
- High-resolution, no "noise" as with scanning
- Can be resized by any of todays common graphics editors
- Delivered on CD in our
Building Report
